Dhafer Youssef concert on M. Vesuvius crater at Pomigliano Jazz 2023

At the sunset, on the edge of Mount Vesuvio’s cratere, people attend the classic event organised by Pomigliano Jazz Festival, the Vesuvio sunset concert. By the end, in a dreamy atmosphere, the audience raise and wave hands to celebrate Tunisian oud player Dhafer Youssef and his special guests Eivind Aarset and Luca Aquino.

The beauty of the performance perfectly highlights the intense vibes coming from the Vesuvian soil, from the sea, from the trees. Climbing up to Mount Vesuvius silent mouth, walking from the gate at 1.000 meters in Ercolano, it’s an easy move to stop by and to be captivate by the bay of Naples under a blue light. Ont he way back, the gaze opens first to the Vesuvian coast and it is quickly blocked by the unmistakable line of Sorrento peninsula.

It has been a calm warm day spent with my friends of Vesuvio Adventures who are holding a walk in the frame of Pomogliano Jazz and their program called Rootes, a series of local tours in the area of Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio.
