Assisting Marco Ripa at Maison & Objet: A Celebration of Italian Design
As Paris gears up to host Maison & Objet 2025, I find myself immersed in a truly unique experience: supporting the Italian designer Marco Ripa during his debut at this iconic design fair. This opportunity bridges my professional path with a lifelong passion for design history, especially the rich legacy of Italian avant-garde design that redefined global aesthetics from the late 1960s to the 1970s.
Italian Design Culture
Italian design has always transcended the mere creation of objects; it forges cultural touchstones. From the bold experiments of the 1960s to today’s modular innovations, the Italian approach seamlessly blends craftsmanship, creativity, and elegance. Marco Ripa exemplifies this heritage with his modular Coimbra collection and India table series. His work transforms industrial materials like metal into artful pieces, redefining conventional ideas of form and weight.
A Personal Connection
For me, design—much like performance art—has always been a medium to explore the intersection of craftsmanship and storytelling. While my career often centers on performing arts communication, collaborating with designers like Marco Ripa allows me to engage with an entirely different creative dimension. Design is more than functional; it tells stories about people, places, and possibilities.

At Hall 7, Stand B90, Marco Ripa will unveil the Coimbrino cushion collection, a collaboration with textile designer Daniela Pinotti, alongside his existing modular and furniture collections. These works continue Italy’s tradition of harmonizing function and beauty—just as avant-garde designers of the 1970s revolutionized the world.
Why This Matters
For me, assisting at Maison & Objet is about more than showcasing Marco Ripa’s work; it’s about weaving design history into contemporary practice. This event offers an opportunity to share the legacy and passion of Italian design with a global audience, while contributing my expertise in communication and visual culture.
