I Segni e i Luoghi. Performative actions in urban spaces

THE SIGNS AND THE PLACES_performative actions in urban spaces is a Public Engagement project of the University of Naples “L’Orientale” with the moral patronage of the Municipality of Procida.

Signs

The Sign as a theatrical code and/or performative action meets the place and inhabits it. The Place, which is a physical, geographical, and urban space, contaminates the gesture that interprets it with its own narration. The project includes:

• a public seminar in which teachers, researchers, artists, and associations address the aesthetic and social repercussions of site-specific interventions
• 4 urban artistic performances
• mapping of the island through personal narratives of residents and welcomed.

A logo that marks the places

The logo starts from the shape of the theatre, which duplicated, becomes a street. A theater-street that goes to the places and crosses them. Places symbolically represented by the red dots, those of the “I am here”. The theatre that becomes (in) street, the places that become theater.
