The visual design for Aprile in Pu-téca was developed by Giovanni Ambrosio to create a cohesive and adaptable visual language for a series of multidisciplinary cultural events hosted by Tramandars in Somma Vesuviana

Design Approach:

The visual identity employs a modular grid structure inspired by Bruno Munari’s approach to clarity and modular composition. This structure provides flexibility while maintaining visual consistency across diverse event formats.

Turmoil: Percussionist Joss Turnbull and saxophonist Mario Gabola engaged in a live sound performance accompanied by local tammorra drummers. The visual design, using a bold, text-based structure, reflected the rhythmic and layered nature of the event.

Feeling Pino Daniele: Gianni Valentino’s reading performance centred around the musical and poetic legacy of Pino Daniele. The design employed a rich teal background, chosen by Valentino himself, to evoke the emotional resonance of the artist’s music.

Disertare gli impegni e cospirare: Featuring Luca Salza and Patrizio Esposito, the event explored the act of refusal and dissent in art and politics. The graphic layout highlighted textual elements, utilising an understated and conceptual design to align with the event’s reflective tone.

Mudrābox(e) – unbo: The closing event showcased Daniela Allocca’s artist book in dialogue with Kevin Del Cuoco. The visual approach emphasised the book’s tactile and layered structure, using muted tones and a minimalist layout to echo the conceptual nature of the publication.

Social Media Integration:

The visual system extended to social media with specific templates for Instagram posts and stories, ensuring a consistent brand presence while adapting to the platform’s rapid-paced, visual-centric format. This strategy fostered audience engagement and reinforced the series’ conceptual framework.

Impact and Evolution:

The success of Aprile in Pu-téca’s visual identity provided the foundational structure for the development of EXTRA, a modular design toolkit for cultural projects operating outside traditional institutions.
