Mauro Gioia

Paris based Neapolitan actor, director, singer Mauro Gioia  official portraits for the show presenting his collection inside Italian disc and music national museum. Mauro Gioia has offered his collection to Istituto centrale per i beni sonori ed audiovisivi, Roma, Italy. The collection, which is is now called Fondo Gioia,  includes around 3000 media: 78 rpm records, mainly recorded during the “acoustic era” and whose repertoires belong to the Neapolitan cultural space. Era d’oro, the shape of an archive, is my visual journal, in photography and video, written to give a shape to Mauro Goia’s archive. On the other hand, in a documentary perspective, it reveals places and spaces related to the history of Neapolitan song.
