78 giri: un’ossessione napoletana. Mauro Gioia’s Conferenza cantata at ICBSA
Istituto Centrale per i Beni Sonori e Audiovisivi.
Pictures from rehearsals and show at ICBSA, Rome, Italy. The Conferenza cantata is a live performance – with pianist by Giuseppe Burgarella – shaped as a sung lecture. It narrates the story of the Neapolitan song and the history of vinyl record reconstructed by writer Antonio Pascale and Neapolitan music historian Anita Pesce. A screening of photos and video from Era d’oro, by artist Giovanni Ambrosio, creates the lecture’s visual set. It’s a commissioned work based on the idea of stage photography as documentary photography. With singer Mauro Gioia, pianist Giuseppe Bulgarella, writer Antonio Pascale. The performance has been created to launch the new Portale della canzone Italiana.
