Early Career and Academic Foundations

My first steps were shaped by a profound engagement with photographic culture. As a gallery assistant, I curated and managed exhibitions and photobook-related events, developing a sensitivity to image sequencing, visual narrative, and printed matter.

With a double academic path in film and art studies (Université de Paris X and Université de Paris VIII), I worked as cultural attaché for an Italian arthouse film distribution company, developing communication strategies and supporting the French release of independent films.

From 2006 to 2008, I served as a lecturer at Université Rennes 2, teaching Italian language and visual culture with an emphasis on photography and media studies. I’ve also worked as a translator of texts on cinema, game theory, and political thought.

Design and Creative Direction

Since 2015, I have been working as a freelance visual communication designer under the signature Black Spring Graphics Studio. My approach combines strategic thinking and visual storytelling through design, photography, and editorial content.

My journey into food communication began with the creation of the full communication concept for Iovine’s Paris, which marked the rise of contemporary Neapolitan pizzerias in France. This foundational project shaped my specialization in food branding and visual identity, particularly for the French market.

Over time, I have developed a broad set of creative services for restaurants, wellness initiatives, artists, and cultural institutions, offering content strategy, art direction, graphic design, and photography.

Between 2017 and 2019, I served as creative director for Wellness-Week, a French start-up focused on wellness-based travel experiences. Since 2018, I have been the official photographer of Olio Nuovo Days, curating their visual campaigns and narrating the evolution of olive oil culture in Paris.

More recently, I have been supporting Italian brands entering the French market, providing tailored communication strategies, cultural mediation, and full content production. Notable collaborations include design artisan Marco Ripa and wellness-tech brand Tabloos.

Photography Practice

As a photographer, I work across several domains:

  • Food and Restaurant Photography

I document food as a cultural and social practice. I’ve collaborated with restaurants and chefs, and I’m represented by Seeeds Gallery, Paris.

My approach bridges documentary sensibility and brand storytelling.

  • Performing Arts & Stage Photography

I am a long-term collaborator with theatre companies and performing artists, creating visual archives and promotional campaigns, and integrating photography into the performance itself.

  • Portrait and Fashion Photography

I’ve been shortlisted for the Bourse du Talent (2012) and the Bottega Veneta ‘New Exposure’ competition.

  • Editorial and Documentary Photography

My work often investigates football subcultures and identity-based communities across Europe and beyond.

Teaching, Research & Artistic Practice

I frequently work in educational and curatorial environments, designing and running workshops and visual arts programs:

  • Developed a Comenius visual arts project at Euroschool Luxembourg I

  • In charge of yearbooks for the Italian School in Paris and the German-French lycée in Freiburg

  • Led workshops on portraiture at Centre Photographique d’Ile-de-France (2022), including one on Olympic athletes

My artistic work, often based on performance documentation, writing, and printmaking, is included in the permanent collections of Mucem, Frans Masereel Centrum, MUFOCO, and others.
