SmartSEU is a Southern Italian company with over 20 years of experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass, thermodynamic systems). They came to us simply requesting: “We need a website.” Our response was guided by a clear research-driven strategy: rather than follow the sterile, corporate aesthetics often used in the energy sector, we set out to build a visual identity that would be more human, accessible, and contextually rooted. The entire project—content architecture, mobile optimisation, iconography, and typographic layout—was shaped by our design thinking process, aimed at creating a platform that communicates technical expertise while standing out visually and emotionally.
We designed a responsive, user-friendly site that builds trust through clarity, using a language that is both direct and visually welcoming.

Design Approach

 

Our challenge was to combine technical accuracy with a human-scale visual identity. Instead of choosing cold, minimal corporate aesthetics, we focused on rounded compositions, soft vector pictograms, and a palette rooted in Mediterranean light and energy (blue/yellow contrast). This made the site more familiar, avoiding the abstraction often associated with high-tech greenwashing. We conducted competitive visual benchmarking against leading energy companies in Southern Europe. We designed a custom pictogram suite (solar, wind, biomass, agrovoltaic, consumption reduction) to visually summarise services and make key topics readable at a glance. We structured content around SEO-friendly headers and microcopy, improving navigation and highlighting client trust as a core strength.
