What about fashion photography when you are a model turning sixty?
Karl Gasser is a Swiss model. On the occasion of his 60th birthday, he commissioned a fashion photo shoot to refresh his portfolio. At the end of the session, I had the opportunity to photograph him in a more intimate context, away from the constraints and codes of fashion photography. These portraits initiated a wider project titled Karl Gasser Story.
This work explores the life of a man who has spent decades in front of the camera. The series investigates what it means to perform, pose, and live within the gaze of fashion imagery — especially at a time when most models are long retired. The fashion portrait turns into a simple shape opening to a wider discussion.
