Collective Writing Laboratory in Paris
EU Collective Plays is a European project dedicated to promoting collaborative playwriting across borders. The core objective of the initiative is to foster the creation of theatrical works that are the result of a process of co-writing between playwrights of different nationalities, backgrounds, and languages. In each writing lab, participants engage in a process of shared authorship: they develop a common narrative structure while maintaining the richness of their own idioms, writing styles, and cultural frameworks. The final draft of the play is entrusted to a single writer β not to unify voices, but to bring out contrasts, weaving them together in a narrative texture that resembles a cubist composition. This laboratory session took place in Paris and involved playwrights and artists from various European countries. It is part of a larger EU-funded framework for transnational cultural production.
